Employers are required to cover part of the travel costs of employees who use public transport.

These trips must be made by public transport or public bicycle rental services.

Coverage is at least 50% of the cost of season tickets for journeys made between the usual residence and the workplace (Labor Code, art. R. 3261-1).

Reimbursement is made on the basis of 2nd class fares and must correspond to the shortest journey between home and place of work. It must take place no later than the month following that for which the subscription was used.

Passes for which the validity period is annual are subject to reimbursement distributed monthly during the period of use (Labor Code, art. R. 3261-4).

The coverage of transport costs by the employer is subject to the delivery or, failing that, to the presentation of the vouchers by the employee (Labor Code, art. R. 3261-5).
