The first question that comes to mind is of course: “Why do a MOOC”?

Asthmatic disease is a common disease affecting 6 to 7% of the French population, or approximately 4 to 4,5 million people. This disease is responsible for 900 deaths per year.

But for the vast majority of patients it is a chronic and variable disease which is sometimes present and disabling and sometimes absent with the misleading impression of no longer having asthma. A disease which imposes its rhythm, its symptoms, its difficulties and which often forces the patient to “manage”. This false feeling of mastery where we finally adapt to what asthma imposes. Asthma is therefore a disease whose symptoms remain, overall, insufficiently controlled despite the effectiveness of existing treatments.

Co-constructed with health professionals and asthmatic patients, this MOOC aims to offer an educational tool allowing asthmatic patients to better know, master, control their disease and improve their own accountability and autonomy outside the premises. of care.

The MOOC consists of interviews with asthma patients as well as courses from health professionals and / or environmental specialists involved on a daily basis in the management of asthma.
