Fixed-term contract: the primacy of the extended branch agreement

In principle, a collective agreement or an extended branch agreement can set:

Regarding renewal, in the absence of extensive contractual provisions, its number is limited to 2 by the Labor Code.
The duration of the renewal (s) added to the initial duration of the CDD must not exceed the maximum duration provided for by the branch agreement or, failing that, the supplementary provisions of the Labor Code.

Regarding the waiting period, in the absence of stipulation in the extended branch agreement, the period is calculated according to the provisions set by the Labor Code:

1/3 of the term of the expired contract, renewal included, when it is equal to or greater than 14 days; half of its duration if the initial contract, including renewal, is less than 14 days. Fixed-term contract: exception until June 30, 2021

After the first deconfinement, these rules were relaxed in order to deal with the consequences of the health crisis. A law, published on June 18, 2020 in the Official Journal, makes it possible to set in a company agreement:
