ANSSI will work, together with the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, to strengthen European Union coordination in the event of a major cyber crisis.

A major cyberattack can have a lasting effect on our societies and our economies on a European scale: the EU must therefore be able to prepare to deal with such an event. The European network of authorities in charge of cyber crisis management (CyCLONe) will thus meet at the end of January, with the support of the European Commission and ENISA, to discuss the challenges posed by a large-scale crisis and the how to develop and improve cooperation and mutual assistance mechanisms within the EU. This meeting will also be an opportunity to explore the role that trusted private sector actors could play, including cybersecurity service providers, in supporting government capabilities in the event of a major cyber attack.
The meeting of the CyCLONe network will be part of an exercise sequence which will involve the European political authorities in Brussels and which will aim to test the articulation of the internal and external aspects of cyber crisis management within the EU.
