Techniques occupy an increasing place in our societies, and yet they remain largely unknown. By techniques we mean objects (tools, instruments, various devices, machines), processes and practices (artisanal, industrial).

This MOOC intends to provide tools to understand how these techniques are produced in their political, economic, social, aesthetic context and how they also configure spaces and societies, that is to say homes, cities, landscapes and the human environment in which they fit.
The MOOC also aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge to identify, maintain, conserve and enhance them, that is to say, work towards their heritage.

Each week, the teachers will start by defining the fields of study, they will explain the main concepts, will give you an overview of the different approaches developed to date, and finally they will present you, for each field, a case study.
