Paid leave: entitlement

Paid leave must, in principle, be taken every year. More than a right, the employee has the obligation to rest from his work.

Employees are entitled to a leave of 2,5 working days per working month, i.e. 30 working days (5 weeks) for a full working year.

The reference period for the acquisition of leave is set by company agreement, or failing that by collective agreement.

In the absence of any contractual stipulation, the vesting period is scheduled from June 1 of the previous year to May 31 of the current year. This period is different when the company is affiliated with a paid vacation fund, such as the construction industry for example. In this case, it is set for April 1.

Paid leave: set the period taken

Paid holidays are taken in a period which includes the period from May 1 to October 31. This provision is of public order.

The employer must take the initiative for the leave, as well as the order of departures in his company.

The leave period can be set by company agreement, or failing that, by your collective agreement.
