The MOOC EIVASION “the fundamentals” is devoted to the basics of artificial ventilation. Its main objectives are to initiate learners:

  • the main principles of physiology and respiratory mechanics allowing the interpretation of ventilator curves,
  • the use of the main ventilation modes in invasive and non-invasive ventilation.

It aims to make learners operational in artificial ventilation, so that they are able to make appropriate decisions in many clinical situations.

Description

Artificial ventilation is the first vital support for critical patients. It is therefore an essential rescue technique in intensive care medicine, emergency medicine and anesthesia. But poorly adjusted, it is likely to induce complications and increase mortality.

This MOOC offers particularly innovative educational content, based on simulation. EIVASION is the acronym for Innovative Teaching of Artificial Ventilation through Simulation.

At the end of the MOOC EIVASION “the fundamentals”, learners will have the opportunity to improve their understanding of patient-ventilator interactions and the clinical practice of ventilation with a second MOOC: the MOOC EIVASION “advanced level” on FUN.
