What is the feeling of belonging?

The feeling of belonging is one of the basic needs defined by the famous Maslow pyramid in 1943. Its author, the psychologist Abraham Maslow, associated the need for belonging with the needs of love, friendship and affiliation. These are very strong feelings that allow an individual to flourish within a group, whatever it is. In the professional world, this translates into social interactions, by employees' adherence to a corporate culture, as well as by the feeling of contributing to the achievement of a common mission. The feeling of belonging is created and maintained in a company. It materializes - among other things - by sharing a common objective, but also by moments of conviviality, extra professional meetings, team building operations, etc.
