Paid leave: period of leave

In many companies, the period for taking paid vacation begins on May 1 and ends on April 30, or even May 31.

The days which will not be taken after this date are lost.

There are situations where deferral is allowed.

In order to organize yourself, take stock with your employees on the number of days of leave still to be taken before the deadline and plan the leave for each.

It is important to check that all employees have been able to take their paid vacation.

If an employee considers that he has not been able to take his paid vacation through your fault, he can claim, before the industrial tribunal, damages in compensation for the damage suffered.

Paid leave: carried over to another period

If an employee is unable to take their leave due to absences related to their state of health (illness, occupational accident or not) or maternity (Labor Code, art. L. 3141-2), his holidays are not lost, but postponed.
