Almost every day the media disseminate the results of surveys on health: surveys on the health of young people, on certain chronic or acute pathologies, on health behaviors ... Have you ever wanted to know how it works?

The MOOC PoP-HealtH, “Investigating health: How does it work?” will allow you to understand how these surveys are constructed.

This 6-week course will introduce you to all the stages from conceptualization to carrying out a survey, and especially a descriptive epidemiological survey. Each week will be devoted to a specific period in the development of the survey. The first step is to understand the phase of justification of an investigation objective and its definition, then the phase of identifying the people to be investigated. Thirdly, you will approach the construction of the collection tool, then the choice of the collection method, that is to say the definition of the place, of the how. Week 5 will be devoted to the presentation of the implementation of the survey. And finally, the last week will highlight the stages of analysis and communication of the results.

A teaching team of four speakers from the University of Bordeaux (ISPED, Inserm-University of Bordeaux U1219 research center and UF Education Sciences), accompanied by public health professionals (experts and survey managers) and our mascot "Mister Gilles", will make every effort to help you better understand the survey data that you discover daily in the newspapers and those in which you yourself may have participated.

Thanks to discussion spaces and the use of social networks, you will be able to interact with teachers and learners. .
