New State service: the regional directorates for the economy of employment, labor and solidarity (DREETS)
On April 1, 2021, a new decentralized state service will be created. These are the regional directorates for the economy of employment, labor and solidarity (DREETS).
The DREETS group together the missions which are currently carried out by:
the regional directorates for business, competition, consumption, labor and employment (DIRECCTE);
decentralized services responsible for social cohesion.
They are organized in poles. In particular, they include a “labour policy” division, responsible for labor policy and labor legislation inspection actions.
The DREETS are placed under the authority of the regional prefect. However, for the tasks relating to labor inspection, they are placed under the authority of the General Directorate of Labor.
The DREETS mobilize all the resources allocated to the labor inspection system in accordance with the provisions of the conventions of the International Labor Organization, both at regional and departmental level.
