This training is aimed at an audience wishing to acquire the basic knowledge that governs the social action carried out by local authorities.

Understand how social action was born and evolved; how decentralization has totally recomposed this sector; how in the 2000s, the major laws relating to the various sectors of social action accompanied major societal changes, such as the aging of the population, the massification and heterogeneity of employment problems, the transformations of family unit, the appearance of phenomena of social emergency, the modification of the taking into account by the public authorities of the place of people.

How the major legislative upheavals of the last five years (MAPTAM law, Notre law) have shaken up the traditional areas of competence of local authorities; how finally, the major changes at work today (globalization, digital, energy, environmental transitions, etc.) invite us to think about the transformations of social action: these are the challenges of this online seminar.

It will also endeavor to describe the major mechanisms at work within these public policies, as well as the role of the actors.
