An access network FTTH (Fiber to the Home – Fiber to the subscriber) is a network, in fiber optic, deployed from an optical connection node (location of the operator's transmission equipment) to private homes or premises for professional use.

Optical fiber is a transmission medium which has low loss and wide bandwidth compared to other transmission media like copper or radio. This is why FTTH optical access networks currently constitute the most sustainable solution for offering services to very high speed on the great distances.
