• describe the essential fluvial mechanisms and calculate the flow conditions in rivers (prediction of flows, calculation of water depths) at least by approximate methods,
  • correctly pose the problems: threats to the river, threats that the river poses to local residents (in particular the risk of flooding)
  • acquire greater autonomy and creativity thanks to a better understanding of your work context.

Description

This course addresses the dynamics of managed rivers from examples of terrain of proven interest for both southern and northern countries (Benin, France, Mexico, Vietnam, etc.).
It should enable you to perfect and enrich your knowledge in the fields of hydrology and water quality, hydraulics and fluvial geomorphology, applied to river management.
It offers methodological and technical know-how to assess the state of watercourses and consider interventions that can be transposed to different environments in the North as well as in the South.
