The MOOC "peace and security in French-speaking Africa" ​​sheds light on the main crises and offers original responses to the challenges posed by the problems of peace and security on the African continent.

The MOOC allows you to acquire fundamental knowledge but also know-how, for example related to crisis management, peacekeeping operations (PKO) or security systems reform (SSR), in order to provide training with a technical and professional dimension to strengthen a culture of peace taking into account African realities

Format

The MOOC takes place over 7 weeks with a total of 7 sessions representing 24 hours of lessons, requiring three to four hours of work per week.

It revolves around the following two axes:

- The security environment in French-speaking Africa: conflicts, violence and crime

- Mechanisms for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in Africa

Each session is structured around: video capsules, interviews with experts, quizzes to help you retain key concepts and written resources: courses, bibliography, additional resources made available to learners. Interactions between the pedagogical team and the learners are carried out within the framework of the forum. A final exam will be organized for the validation of the course. At the conclusion, prospective elements and future challenges in terms of peace and security on the continent in general will be discussed.
