Within the framework of the secondary school reform, the teaching of foundations of computer science takes an important place. Thus from the general and technological Seconde class, a new teaching, Digital Sciences and Technology, is available to all.

How to help SNT teachers? What knowledge to share with them? Which resources to select? What skills should be passed on to them so that they can provide this new education?

This MOOC will be a somewhat special training tool : a space of partage andmutual aid, where everyone will build their course according to their needs and knowledge, an online course that will evolve over time; we start when we want and we come back as long as we need.

This course aims to provide prerequisites and initial resources to start these SNT activities with high school students in connection with the 7 themes of the program. Close-ups on a few topics that can be explored further and turnkey activities will be offered. This MOOC comes to help and complement the training necessary for this teaching offered by the national education system.

S for Science: Knowing computer science and its foundations. We start here from the assumption (true for a few years) that almost everyone knows the uses of computers but what do we know about the coding of information, algorithms and programming, digital systems (the networks, databases)? Do you think you know nothing or know everything? Come check it out for yourself and see how accessible it is!

N for Digital: Digital as culture, impacts in reality. Grains of scientific culture to discover the digital and its sciences in the real world, on the seven themes of the program. In connection with the daily lives of young people, show them where the digital systems, data and algorithms that surround us are, what they are exactly. Understand the changes and the resulting societal impacts, to identify both the opportunities and the risks (eg crowdsourcing, new social contacts, etc.) that lie ahead of them.

T for Technology: Take control of digital creation tools. Equip themselves to support students in developing the targeted skills, through the creation of digital objects (interactive websites, connected objects or robots, smartphone applications, etc.), using software and an initiation to programming in Python.

What if I took the ICN MOOC?
Note that: part S of this SNT MOOC takes up chapter I (IT and its foundations) of the ICN MOOC (so you just have to validate the quizzes, without necessarily consulting videos and documents again); contents of chapter N of the MOOC ICN are used as cultural elements in part N of the MOOC SNT which is however new and adapted to new programs, just like part T of the MOOC SNT.
