One of the unions in my company is asking me to set up a room dedicated to breastfeeding. What are my obligations in this matter? Can the union force me to such an installation?

Breastfeeding: the provisions of the Labor Code

Note that, for one year from the day of birth, your employee who breastfeeds her child has one hour a day for this purpose during working hours (Labour Code, art. L. 1225-30) . She even has the opportunity to breastfeed her child in the establishment. The time available to the employee to breastfeed her child is divided into two periods of thirty minutes, one during the morning work, the other during the afternoon.

The period during which work is stopped for breastfeeding is determined by agreement between the employee and the employer. Failing agreement, this period is placed in the middle of each half-day of work.
