The Internet of Things (IoT) constitutes a major evolution of global networks and must respond to two fundamental challenges: to be energy efficient and above all to be interoperable, ie allow objects to be easily integrated into existing information systems.

This MOOC will cover the technologies, architectures and protocols necessary for the end-to-end performance of information collection on networks dedicated to the IoT for the structuring of the data and its processing.

In this MOOC, you will notably:

  • discover a new category of networks called LWAN whose SIGFOX et LoRaWAN are the most famous representatives,
  • see the evolution of the Internet protocol stack, which goes from IPv4 / TCP / HTTP à IPv6 / UDP / CoAP while preserving the REST concept based on resources unambiguously identified by URIs,
  • explain how CBOR can be used to structure complex data in addition to JSON,
  • finally JSON-LD et mongodb database will allow us to easily manipulate the information collected. Thus, we will introduce the essential techniques to statistically validate the data collected.
